Hong Kong announced its intention to develop an analogue of ChatGPT

Hong Kong intends to develop its own artificial intelligence chatbot, similar to the American ChatGPT, to catch up in the global race for innovation.

Report informs citing TASS, the South China Morning Post wrote on Saturday, citing the head of the city department responsible for innovation, technology and industry, Sun Dong.

“I tried ChatGPT myself and found it really good. It marked a new stage in the future development of artificial intelligence. It inspired us. We need to reallocate our resources and direct them to the study of artificial intelligence in order to keep up with global technological development,” the publication leads his words.

He also added that the government intends to develop its own similar platform based on artificial intelligence and create a task force that will study the challenges posed by this technology.

ChatGPT of the American company OpenAI was launched at the end of 2022. The service interacts with the user in a dialog mode. The chatbot can answer additional questions, admit its mistakes, challenge incorrect premises, and reject inappropriate requests.
